Profile

Jennifer Harrell joins the CSU College of Law after visiting this past spring to teach first-year legal writing. Prior to her time at CSU, Harrell served as a visiting legal writing and torts professor at her alma mater, The University of Akron School of Law. In addition to teaching law students, Harrell taught legal writing to undergraduates as part of Akron Law’s PLUS program, which provides summer courses to students from racial and ethnic minority groups underrepresented in the legal profession. An ardent supporter of oral advocacy, Harrell also served as co-advisor to Akron Law’s moot court program and coached several teams throughout her time there.

Before joining the world of academia, Harrell was a litigator at Tucker Ellis, LLP in Cleveland, focusing on product liability and toxic tort cases.

While a student at Akron Law, Harrell served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Akron Law Review and was a judicial extern to judges in both the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She graduated magna cum laude with her J.D. in 2009.

Harrell is a grateful and blessed wife and mother of two young and adorable children and one incredibly cute rescue pup.
