Profile

Robert J. Triozzi is a Clinical Professor of Law and Co-Director of the CSU College of Law Criminal Justice Center. Triozzi has been actively engaged in a wide range of experience in legal, civic and public policy matters at the highest levels throughout his career. He has served as an accomplished defense attorney and as chief trial counsel in a wide variety of cases, including death penalty litigation. Triozzi formerly served as the Director of Law and Chief Prosecutor for the City of Cleveland and the Director of Law for Cuyahoga County where he helped advance efforts toward human rights legislation, bail reform and jail diversion opportunities.

Triozzi served with distinction for 10 years as a Judge of the Cleveland Municipal Court, where he assisted his colleagues in the establishment of the Greater Cleveland Drug Court and was instrumental in establishing the Court’s Mentally Disordered Offenders Docket, one of the first mental health courts in the State of Ohio. He has served as a member of the Ohio Supreme Court’s Domestic Violence Advisory Committee and was a faculty member of the Ohio Judicial College.

At CSU College of Law, Triozzi serves as the Director of the Pretrial Justice Clinic and the Interim Director of the Pardon, Clemency and Expungement Clinic and has taught a variety of criminal justice-related experiential courses.
