“What I like about the residency so far is that I'm able to work with my teachers face-to-face and I feel like it's a lot, it's very rewarding for us students...I feel like I'm getting a lot out of it and learning a lot.”

“The faculty has impacted my experience in a very positive way. They are very understanding, they're very uplifting. They're very easy to talk to, very easy to reach out to. If you have questions, they are always there for you and always have a very supportive, go get attitudes for you and they want you to achieve. They want you to do your best. They want you to graduate and be that person in 16 months and be that nurse that they are training you to be.”

“When I got my first degree from CSU was this past December, I had a lot of support from professors and faculty. It's really hard to go to school full-time and have a young baby at home at the same time. I knew that I would have that same support [at CSU], and so I figured why not?... if there are any moms out there like me who are thinking about pursuing a degree in nursing, I would say to go for it, especially if you have a good support system. It's going to be challenging, but the reward at the end will be well worth it.”

“My favorite part is coming here to campus for residency, you just learn so much in a hands-on and fun way... you get time to practice and learn and actually do the skills hands on, and you really can obtain a lot more information learning that way, and I found it to be very helpful.”

“When I heard Cleveland State was offering an online accelerated nursing program, I jumped at the opportunity, applied, and I'm happy that I made this decision.. I'm excited to finally get out into the real world, apply what I'm learning, and then obviously get a job in the field and be able to help patients and families and loved ones. And that's what I'm passionate about... I can really feel that my dreams are coming true with being in this program.”

Lauren Maloney

“What really drove me to the FNP program is that Cleveland State has a very evidence-based practice for their nursing programs while also being all online. So that allowed me to continue with my full-time job while continuing through a full-time program and not having to sacrifice quality for an all-online program. So, I'm not only getting to do this full time, but I'm also getting the quality of a really great program as well.”

“There's not a moment that I find myself needing support when there's nobody to reach out to. If I send an email it's responded to within a day or so. There are open office hours which you can participate in, which are very helpful. I've had instructors offer me virtual calls, real calls on my cell phone. They're real people, they're real connections. I never feel like I'm alone or that I don't have the support I need. They're really good about that.”

Aleena Babar

“I was really hesitant to jump into an FNP program so early into my nursing career. But I think the program here really trains you well and teaches you what you need to learn to be a really good provider. They make sure you get all the skills, and you ace those skills before you're sent into the actual field. So don't be scared, just take the leap of faith.”

St Urbin Webb-Ruiz

“My favorite part of this program is learning how my role as a nurse practitioner is changing from my role as a registered nurse. As a registered nurse, I follow the orders of the provider. And as an FNP, I'm now giving the orders to the nurses in order to care for the patient... So, I'm able to now prepare myself for my clinical rotation as a student FNP and I am very much looking forward to it.”
